Improve the sanitation and hygiene at Mpiringisa playground
Be part of us in creating the desperately needed change in Maya – Mpiringisa, and the surrounding communities in a bid to improve the sanitation and hygiene at Mpiringisa playground.
This public sports recreation facility was donated to the community by St. Matthew Anglican church under the Diocese of Namirembe. The sports facility has a very old and dilapidated 2 stance VIP toilet which needs urgent replacement.

The public sports facility has huge traffic of over 20 schools that converge and train as well as showcase the various talents at the playground on a daily basis. In addition to that, the surrounding community that lacks toilet facilities also uses the dilapidated VIP toilet at the sports ground which has resulted in poor safety, sanitation and hygiene condition in the whole area.
The Rotary Club of Maya embarked on saving the situation in the area which is in line the rotary core areas of focus.
Informed by our needs assessment, preparations are underway to construct a modern public toilet facility in response to the community’s call.
This facility is estimated to cost about UGX 102,000,000 (One Hundred and Two million shillings) Equivalent to USD 27,200.
The proposed modern public toilet will be fully furnished with standard equipment and connected to both underground rainwater harvest tank as well as to National water grid for purposes of sustainability.
