Rtn. Sylvia Atwiine

Rtn Sylvia Atwiine is a charter member of the Rotary club of Maya, a wife and a mother of three.

She serves as a member of the club’s project management committee and on the organizing committee of the Club’s Charter ceremony . Sylivia belongs to the Crested crane buddy group.

Sylvia Atwiine is an accomplished educator and project manager with a strong background in Kiswahili language instruction and curriculum development. She holds a bachelor's degree in education from Makerere University, specializing in Kiswahili Language, and a postgraduate diploma in Project Planning and Management from Uganda Management Institute.

Her professional journey includes serving as a language tutor at SOROTI CORE PRIMARY TEACHER'S COLLEGE from 2010 to 2014. She then joined Uganda National Curriculum Development Centre, where she contributed significantly to the development of the Kiswahili language syllabus for primary and secondary schools in Uganda.

Sylvia has also played a pivotal role in the UNICEF Education Project "Girls Empowering Girls," implemented by GiveDirectly.org. As a project officer, she helped empower young girls through education and direct cash grants. From 2019 to 2023, she served as a follow-up officer for cash grants at GiveDirectly.org, providing critical support to vulnerable populations.

Currently, Sylvia is self-employed and eager to take on new projects. Her extensive experience in education, curriculum development, and grant management makes her a valuable addition to the Rotary Club of Maya. She looks forward to contributing her expertise and dedication to the club's initiatives as a charter member.
